I’m a Scientist is like school science lessons meet the X Factor! School students choose which scientist gets a prize of $1000 to communicate their work.
Scientists and students talk on this website. They both break down barriers, have fun and learn. But only the students get to vote.
This zone is the Organs Zone. It has scientists studying health and disease in various parts ย of our bodies. Who gets the prize? YOU decide!
@hoo0006 wow, is that a loaded question! LOL
We need to change/alter certain parts of our lifestyle, that is true. Polluting the atmosphere not only ruins the air we breathe, but also affects the ozone layer and the temperature of the earth. But having only 70-80 years to change our behavior is drastically different to “leaving” in 70-80 years as it’s already too late. Stephen is a very smart man, but from the looks of things, he has predicted the end of the world a couple of times. Once (in 2009) noting the world will end in 2012 (so far we’re ok!) .
He was asked about the event that he believes would cause us such grief. He mentioned the possibility of nuclear war or climate change as being the cause of human extinction. Now climate change is real. The temperature of the world is changing. The fact that people cling on to to discredit the debate is the fact that we know earths temperature actually does fluctuate. What they don’t mention is that fact that this time around, humans are actually doing things that will undoubtedly affect global warming (we weren’t there polluting last time…erm… thousands of years ago)
Nuclear war is something different all together!
Soo, to be honest. I’m going to have to choose to have faith in humanity, and believe we will somehow change. If not, 70-80 years is too close (we’d be screwed!)
Hope that makes sense ๐
