I’m a Scientist is like school science lessons meet the X Factor! School students choose which scientist gets a prize of $1000 to communicate their work.
Scientists and students talk on this website. They both break down barriers, have fun and learn. But only the students get to vote.
This zone is the Organs Zone. It has scientists studying health and disease in various parts  of our bodies. Who gets the prize? YOU decide!
I’m against too much of anything!
I mean don’t get me wrong, I think supplements are very useful and in occasions are required (i.e. when you lack or have so little of a particular vitamin etc). But your body can only absorb a certain amount of vitamins/supplements/drugs. Any more is both a waste of time and money, and can actually hurt the body as they need to be dealt with/ filtered out.
On a side note, I have to take vitamin D tablets as my skin colour means I don’t get enough naturally. This is perfectly fine, as it was doctors orders after a blood test (no assumptions that I “need” this/that supplement)
Hope that makes sense 😀

Well, scientists have shown that if you eat a balanced diet, that you should get all the vitamins and nutrients that you need, without supplementation. So i think for people that are taking good care of themselves, and eating right, they are really unnecessary.
But there’s lots of reasons when you might need an extra boost (like for example when you are sick, or pregnant, or older) and i think that they can be a good idea at times like these.
They are certainly no replacement for a healthy lifestyle, especially for children!
What do you think?
