Yes, epilepsy sometimes requires surgery. The surgeon will work out which brain area is generating the abnormal activity or seizures & then cut it out. There are lots of drugs available to treat epilepsy & these are obviously the first option.
Brain tumours, stroke (uncontrolled bleeding) & fluid build up all require surgery too.
