Question: will our bodies survive living on jupiter

Keywords: , , ,

  1. Definitely not!

Firstly, its REALLY COLD!! Also, the atmosphere is made up of extremely poisonous gases (hydrogen and helium). And then there’s the fact that the intense gravity on Jupiter would probably squash humans flat anyway!

  2. As Hannah answered, no!

There is no surface on Jupiter- it is a gas giant (a big ball of gas), under immense pressure (the gravity on Jupiter is 10 times stronger than it is on Earth- so if you weigh 50kg on Earth = 500kg on Jupiter!)

There is not enough radiating heat energy to sustain life on Jupiter, however scientists have suggested we may be able to live on one of the Galilean satellites of Jupiter like Io or Europa because there is frozen ice (water) on the surface (which is rocky!). We may be able to one day produce heat to melt that ice into liquid water- one of the essential ingredients for life on Earth.

  3. Nope. We couldn’t handle it as our bodies have been designed to survive only on earth!
