Question: i dont know if this is true or not but does chocolate actually give people pimples?

Keywords: ,

  1. Good news for all you chocoholics: Eating chocolate does not cause pimples. Skin care experts agree that acne is not caused by any specific food, including French fries, candy, soda, or potato chips.

The real acne causes are a buildup of dead skin cells within the pore, an excess of skin oil (called sebum), and a proliferation of acne-causing bacteria. None of these factors are triggered by the foods we eat.

    Here’s some chocolatey facts….

    * Chocolate contains ingredients which increase our serotonin levels โ€” a naturally occurring brain chemical that makes us feel happy, which is why we feel so good when we eat it.

    * Our natural body temperature is set at 37ยฐ Celsius while chocolate melts at less than 36ยฐ โ€” so it’s a mouth-melter in every sense of the word!

    * In it’s purest form, dark chocolate has a high cocoa content. Studies have shown that when eaten in moderation, it can help to promote cardiac health. The bad news? Milk, white and drinking chocolate have a higher sugar and fat content.

  2. They say no, but I do know some people that get more pimples when they eat certain things (nuts/ chocolate).
But for the love of chocolate, and as scientific research seems to be on our side, I’m going with no ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. Nice facts Hannah!

Chocolate isn’t responsible for giving people pimples but some people who are sensitive to milk and other products in chocolate may react by ‘breaking out’ with pimples (that can be from other foods too). You can actually get a test to see if you are sensitive to chocolate or any of the ingredients found in chocolate.

The best thing for clear skin is plenty of water, rest and a healthy diet – which includes chocolate in moderation! ๐Ÿ™‚
