I’m a Scientist is like school science lessons meet the X Factor! School students choose which scientist gets a prize of $1000 to communicate their work.
Scientists and students talk on this website. They both break down barriers, have fun and learn. But only the students get to vote.
This zone is the Organs Zone. It has scientists studying health and disease in various parts ย of our bodies. Who gets the prize? YOU decide!
Well….we’ve taken DNA from jellyfish to make rabbits glow. So yes…I’d say it’s possible. But you’d have to ask if we SHOULD! Ethics are a big part of scientific research. ๐

Like Carina said, some jellyfish are able to fluoresce/glow. After finding out what part of their DNA gives them this ability, scientists were able to genetically modify animals like mice, rabbits etc so that certain cells glow.
So although your question is possible, the issue is that you would have to genetically modify a human, someones child. The fact is that we don’t know whether they’d be any problems/ complications with that individual throughout their life either!
So I wonder, if you take all of this into consideration, would you still want to?!?!
I think I know the answer ๐
