I’m a Scientist is like school science lessons meet the X Factor! School students choose which scientist gets a prize of $1000 to communicate their work.
Scientists and students talk on this website. They both break down barriers, have fun and learn. But only the students get to vote.
This zone is the Organs Zone. It has scientists studying health and disease in various parts of our bodies. Who gets the prize? YOU decide!
Hi blissy,
I’m not going to get too into it, because admittedly, the whole thing makes me feel icky when i think about it!
Too much inflammation will do damage to any tissue. If left untreated, it will destroy the tissue from the inside… Inflammation happens when you’re body tries to heal itself from an injury or trauma (there are autoimmune conditions where your body attacks itself for no reason, but we won’t go into that either – it gets very complex very quickly!).
So what to do to retain your eyesight? Well, take care of your eyes! Wear glasses when around dangerous things that can affect your eye (goggles etc). Don’t fight! A punch to the eye can be really bad! Just take care of yourself, and you’ll be fine!
Hope that helps. And if you have to see the icky pictures, just google “cornea” and “melt”, the first picture in google images should do the trick (eek!)
