Question: Why do mice smell?

Keywords: ,

  1. Mice have a great sense of smell. They use smell to recognise their families, their babies, their nest, predators and even use it to find their way around. Smell is really important to mice because they have really poor vision.

If you are asking why are they stinky, it’s their urine that smells. Male mice like to mark their territory like dogs, so smell a bit more than female mice. I change the cages of my mice frequently so they don’t smell too much. 😉
