Question: If you weren't able to work in your line of science, would you still work in science or would you work somewhere else?

  1. Hi alex – that’s a very good question!

I’d still love to be involved in science. I really enjoy the process of asking questions, discovering how things work, problem solving, sharing ideas and testing out ideas with experiments. The great thing about science is – it’s humungous! There is so much scope to work in very wide different fields – from biomedical research, engineering, patent law, sport medicine, marine studies, biostatistics, behavioural economics, food technology just to name a few.

So hopefully, if I’m lucky I will be able to continue to work in science. If not, I’ll be able to apply my skills as a scientist to accomplish my work!!!

    What are your interests areas???

  2. Hey Alex!

I’m interested in lots of areas of Science, so I’d definitely still work in science! I think I would probably work in cancer research or autism research, because I have people in my family with both if these problems and I’d like to help them! 🙂

  3. There are lots of ways to work in science without being a scientist. I’d probably move into research administration or something like that. Or I’d reinvent myself and do something completely different!

  4. I like science too much to give it up completely. Because I love talking about science with people I would go into science communication. Perhaps designing fun science events for schools and universities.

  5. Great question.
I’ve worked in Stem Cell research, Cancer research as well as Diabetic research. When you’re a scientist, you can implement what you’ve learnt in other areas.
If no science at all, then I’d love to do something that involves travelling. Dreaming here, but maybe work for getaway or something 😀
