I’m a Scientist is like school science lessons meet the X Factor! School students choose which scientist gets a prize of $1000 to communicate their work.
Scientists and students talk on this website. They both break down barriers, have fun and learn. But only the students get to vote.
This zone is the Organs Zone. It has scientists studying health and disease in various parts  of our bodies. Who gets the prize? YOU decide!
Wouldn’t this be cool!
I record male mice singing to female mice. If a male mouse has an attractive song, the female will show interest in him. If I was to record the attractive male mouse’s song and then play it back to a female mouse — I think she would walk towards it. If I am able to understand what components of his song make it attractive, I could be like the pied piper walking down the street with millions of female mice following me!

Hi alexander5m, that’s an interesting question!
Emma’s research is really cool! Singing male mice to attract females! 🙂
Do you mean having a conversation?
Human: Augh a mouse!
Mouse: Oh-oh a human!
Human: Augh! A talking mouse!
Mouse: Oh-oh I shouldn’t have done that! Squeak squeak!
Okay enough silliness, I think perhaps humans and mice do communicate, but not verbally. Like other animals we can tell when a mouse is scared (freeze), anxious/angry (pee and poop) but we cannot communicate how we feel and we also can’t ‘hear’ what mice say because they use ultrasound (sound produced which is above our hearing range!)
What do you think?
