I’m a Scientist is like school science lessons meet the X Factor! School students choose which scientist gets a prize of $1000 to communicate their work.
Scientists and students talk on this website. They both break down barriers, have fun and learn. But only the students get to vote.
This zone is the Organs Zone. It has scientists studying health and disease in various parts of our bodies. Who gets the prize? YOU decide!
You poor thing!!! I hope you heal quickly! Luckily, you’re young so your body repairs itself far faster than in older people. Your bones are alive, just like your skin. And just like when you cut your skin and it forms a scab, the cells in your bones (osteoblasts) will form a “scab” and start to heal over the broken part of your bone very quickly. It takes time for this “scab” (it’s really called a callus) to become strong though…it’s made out of soft collagen and then cartilage before it becomes real bone.
