Question: Have you found any clues on Vitamin D and the effects on kids? If so, how did you do that?

  1. The study that I’m working on have followed 2000 kids from birth (and they’re now 21 years old!). They and their parents came in periodically to have blood taken, answer questions, be weighed and measured, and have lots of data recorded about them. It was a huge effort for everyone!!! What I’m looking at right now is their vitamin D levels and how they change over their childhood, and how that might relate to other things, like their heart health and future risk for obesity and heart disease. What I’m finding is what people have been saying for years: vitamin D is important for lots of things that go on in your body. And the best place to get vitamin D is from the sun. So go outside!!!
