Question: does peroxside make you skin dry ad scabby?

Keywords: , , ,

  1. Hmmm….do you mean hydrogen peroxide or benzoyl peroxide? Peroxide by itself is just two oxygen molecules stuck together. Hydrogen peroxide has a (surprise!) hydrogen stuck on it, and is usually used as a bleach or a cleaner….it makes great bubbles! It can irritate your skin, for sure. Benzoyl peroxide is in anti-pimple creams (as an antiseptic). Too much of it can certainly make your skin dry and scabby….you have to be careful to use a lower percentage if it irritates you.

  2. Hydrogen peroxide can definitely burn your skin, and it can also take all the colour out of your hair! 🙂 But at low levels, it’s really good at cleaning and drying out your skin when you hurt yourself.
