One day to go!! Last chance to vote for me!!! It's been a blast!!

Favourite Thing: My favourite things to do in science is to work at the bench, which is where we do all of our hands on science experiments. When I put on my lab coat and go into the lab, I get the chance to see things that I’ve never seen before and to find ways to find answer questions (hypotheses) that will help us to explain infertility. I also love to see other people present their science, and I love to travel overseas to meetings to talk about my science!!

Current Job:

Now I work as a postdoc back in Australia, which means that I carry out my own research in the lab and work in a big team of people that are trying to help women who have problems getting pregnant.

Me and my work

I use a mouse model to try and work out the reasons that some women have more trouble trying to get pregnant than others. The reason we use mice is because they are cheap and have lots and lots of babies really quickly!! :)

Sometimes, I even make balloon animals for kids at science expos.  This was Science Alive in August 2012. myimage3

My Typical Day

I usually work in the lab most days, so I usually get in early and plan the days experiments. My work uses a mouse model, so most days i also visit my mice in the mouse house! :) I also spend lots of time talking about science with the students and other researchers in my lab.

Here is where I work each day! myimage2
